Jeffrey My Way

If I turned back the clock around 6 years ago right now, you would have found me either on my floor creating jewelry or hunched over a sewing machine. If you asked me what I wanted to be, the answer was fashion designer (specifically, accessories). Life is funny. I can't imagine my life any other way than it is now though. Although I always did well in school, I never had much interest in pursuing a traditional college degree, let alone a Ph.D., and I had no idea that I would one day aim to be an academic. My teenage dreams of becoming a designer are now just a distant memory to me. I'm not sad about it at all because I am happy to be where I am. I now actually study creativity, and channel most of my creativity towards research projects (on creativity!) and of course, my daily fashion choices. However, I had to jump at the chance to try my hand at designing a shoe for the Jeffrey My Way contest on Chictopia. My drawing skills are less than desirable, and I doubt I would ever win such a contest, but I decided either way it would be fun to create a shoe based on my life. So I combined geek (books and glasses) with the chic platform "foxy" skeleton.

It kind of bothers me when people ask their blog followers to vote for them, but I'm going to reason here that I just want a chic vote to get into the chic have gallery so I can at least be considered. I mean, the vote only places me eligible, right? Plus, I don't even think many people read my blog, but if you are out there, please vote :)
