Basically I've been living off bananas and tomatoes for the past 2 days since there is no other fresh fruit or veggies in the house. I had to get a little creative with my lunch today so I did a little spin on the classic peanut butter and banana sandwich. First I toasted the bread, then added the peanut butter (crunchy!) and bananas. To add a little bit more, I drizzled on some granola and honey. I was very pleased with the result. I'm not much of a sweet tooth, but this was just the perfect amount of sweetness. Serve with a tall glass of milk!

Shoesday
My aunt emailed me a few days ago and told me that they were having another sale and they were letting shoes go for super cheap, so she put aside some 6.5s and 7s for me to come try on. I think I probably tried on about a dozen or so and I walked away with 6 new babies.

My favorite are the Bettye Muller heels. They are so adorable, now I need the perfect red dress to wear them with! The polka-dot YSLs are going to be so cute with everything black and white! The D&G sandals are making me ache for summer to pair with sundresses, the CL flats are perfect because, really, black flats are essential, the AK shoes really cute, but I'm not sure what they are going to be paired with yet, and finally the Marni flats are very interesting, not for everyone, but they are cozy and are going to be a nice switch from simple black sandals sometimes.
After the shoefest, we went for lunch at a small Italian place. Their special for the day was white pizza with brie cheese, pears, walnuts and it was drizzled with honey. To. Die. For.

Plaid
No updates for the past couple of days because I was bogged down with a midterm. Actually, things are going to start getting really crazy, really quickly. I'm afraid I won't be having much of a spring break this year since when I get back it will be the last few weeks of school when I have: 5 presentations and their accompanying papers and prep work, 2 very large papers, a stats midterm, and a journal of all the stats work I (should) have been working on all semester, plus one of those weeks is a conference as well. Oh well, I'm going to try not to think about all that stuff until I really have to, which isn't right now. I wore this last weekend, I asked my boyfriend if I looked like a teacher or librarian, he said no. I told him it was totally okay if I did!

Girls Night!
So on Friday, I had a little girls night with Yessy and Lisset. The night included sushi and Coco Avant Chanel :)

With your baby's breath, breathe symphonies...

Yesterday I went to a party during the day, it was at a banquet hall, so I found this dress appropriate to wear. I was excited to finally wear it. I have to say, out of all the Rodarte for Target I've racked up (I haven't even worn half of my collection yet) this may be my absolute favorite piece. That's really saying something too because most of the dresses for the collection are truly fantastic. I'm usually not one to get too crazy over the Target collaborations, I usually see them online and love them, then I see them in person and I'm so underwhelmed. Something about this collection just got to me though, from the moment I tried on some of the pieces I was in love, the complete girlyness of them defines my style completely. The Rodarte for Target dress was worn with a modcloth.com necklace and tweed Christian Louboutin shoes.

Happy Weekend, Everyone!
I just got back from shopping at Loehmann's with my mother. Sometimes I really don't know why I ever shop anywhere else. I really find incredible things there for even more incredible prices. Usually by the time Friday rolls around, I just want to eat Chinese food and watch movies on my couch, but since I went shopping today, I want to go out and wear all my new clothes! We'll see where the weekend brings me. I should however do a little bit more reading before I get too excited over it being the weekend.

Art Fest
I feel like I've been wearing jeans for the past week or so. I'm just not really great at dressing for the cold. I wore this a few days ago to the Coconut Grove Art Festival. I've always wanted to go and my friend had free tickets, so we went. I don't think I would ever go again though unless I was looking to buy some art. We were stuck in traffic and looked for parking for over an hour, plus I wasn't with the most arty people ever, they were more interested in the carnival food and we walked past all the stalls so quickly that by the time I vocalized interest in a piece, we were already walking by the next stall. Oh well, it was interesting to at least go.

I'm now on the look out for pants. I'm going to a conference in April and I need to find business attire to wear. I find it pretty impossible to find pants that fit me though. The regular pants are too long and the petites are made for old women it seems. If anyone knows where to find pants in 0 short that actually look nice, please let me know!

Feb. 14th
I'm not really big on mushy gooshy things and people who complain about being single on Valentine's really annoy me, so obviously I'm not big on Valentine's Day. Usually my boyfriend and I go out to a nice, overpriced, overrated dinner and it never turns out well. This year we opted for a casual night at home - Thai takeout, wine, and Casablanca.

Rent?
Okay, forgive me for the photo spot, it reveals just another one of my nerdy likes - musicals! It was dark (and cold) outside, my sister had friends over, I was in a hurry, and I had no one to take my photo, so I had to take it in the corner of my room. I went out for a friend's birthday last night to the Yard House, which is basically this place with like 150 beers on tap, any flavor or type you can think of. My boyfriend wasn't able to make it on time (although he made it there after midnight or so) so I went alone. I wasn't with my normal group of friends, but the friend's birthday I was at was someone I went to high school with, so I knew a few other people there at least. So, I was only planning on having 2 beers, I had one at the bar and then I was going to have another small one with dinner but the waiter apparently thought I should have this half yard. You should have seen my face when he brought it to me.

Lazy Saturday
Today was a very relaxing day. I did a little bit of online library browsing, read a little bit for school, and just spent the day with my dog. I put a little hat on her and took pictures, she was not so amused, but she sure looked adorable!

Good Things Come to Those Who Wait
I've been lusting over a pair of Ann Demeulemeester boots forever. They were obviously way out of my price range though. Then came the Jeffrey Campell knock-offs, which started popping up everywhere, however they were in limited quantities and no where to be found. I debated getting the Free People pair, but I didn't really like them enough to spend $200 or however much they were. I was happy to pick up this pair from forever21 though, although I'm sure the quality is probably lacking, it's the style that I crave, and for under $30, who can complain?

I put this outfit together to enter the forever21 sweetheart contest on Chictopia. You can see a few more of the photos, on my chictopia, of me holding up my sign (which says my forever sweetheart is my dear Amelie!) It took a really long time to take all these photos, mainly because I first tried outside, but it was too windy, then I had to get the correct lighting inside, and finally, trying to get Amelie to sit still was a mission in itself. Right now I'm just anxiously awaiting my forever21 and modcloth.com packages to arrive, they should be here within an hour or so!
